The weaponisation of offence combined with the monopolisation of suffering is a short-term win at long term expense. The Blacklash, as I'm going to call it (somewhat tongue in cheek) will begin in earnest - and those who stand to lose the most are those already disenfranchised from the conversation by virtue of their economic position rather than their race. Identity politics will drive living standards down for the poorest members of society, black, white, asian, hispanic. It doesn't matter. Those with a vested interest in it's continuation (including most of the racism writers on Medium) are inculcated from the worst effects of their actions by virtue of their economic position.
