Absolutely! Audiences are the best and I think there's a strong divide between writers who view them as an asset to improving their writing, and those who see them as an asset to improving their bank balance. Those latter writers are going to struggle at every Medium pivot because their self-worth is tied into something they can't control. You can't control your audience that much either, but you can certainly engage with them and make sure they have a good time with you. :o)
