Age is very much an overlooked factor when it comes to the discussions and it often betrays people. There are some excellent writers on this platform, some of whom take a strong identity stance - or who are prepared to travel down that route for a while. However, there's something about younger writers on the platform that means debate is a non-starter - they cannot separate identity from argument.
