All applications to everything should be double blind, especially universities. The first time you should find anything out about your students is day one when they show up.... and if 80% of them are Asian prodigy kids, then the rest of the world has some serious questions to answer about either the way we grade education, or the way we teach our children. I suspect, all things considered on day one - it'd be a healthy blend of different colour people because skin colour is not related to intelligence or aptitude in any way whatsoever.

And yeah, legacy placements should've gone in the bin sometime around 1901 and AA should've gone in the bin sometime around 2001. There should be no meddling to try and get the results you want. You can't fight the problem of pink elephants* by insisting nobody thinks about pink elephants - it's counter intuitive and counter productive to the stated aims.

*you have to shoot them in secret from space, which is why you'll never see any.
