Alternative education is probably good at this stage in the current system. Did you get homeschooled or were you in a Steiner/Montessori set up? Education seems to be about putting 'facts' in people rather than teaching people to evaluate whether what is being presented is a 'fact'. I had a slightly alternative-y education too; though very much in the mainstream.
