Always comes and read the people who poke me repeatedly. This is a very good article. I'd argue the world continues to be divisive because these groups are losing the mechanisms by which to talk to each other - there is a rise in both echo chamber thinking and seeking out the company of those like us by not reading those who we disagree with. I don't think it's anyone's fault. I think it's everyone's fault and I take an anti-identity politics stance because it plays naturally into groupthink.
I think you've presumed I'm some sort of republican gun-toting Conservative. I'm not, I'm a liberal British Penguin from the left; disturbed to see how the left has fractured under identity politics and I would love to see a general strike.
It's nice to see Pepe here. Pepe reads widely and disagrees with me vehemently on a lot of stuff (particularly if they think I've overstepped the mark) and that's all to the good. You've got writing chops too - Medium needs opinionated writers in the centre ground. Now, before you get angry at me - instead take this one on the chin - work on your fundamentals. Titles, subtitles, pictures and white space. There's nothing worse than seeing good writing under-read on the platform whilst pap-filled mediocrity floods the algorithm.
