America may be a potential theocracy - there are certainly too many fundamentalists near positions of power than I would like.

Ad hominem attacks against the Kim Family are entirely fine. The difference between Sleep Joe and his dementia or even the Don, is that they exist in a bubble of otherwise relatively competent and sane individuals and structures. They might be President, but they aren't the Supreme Leader and walking incarnation of God among their people. They aren't (no matter how much Don wants it to be) an unquestioned cult of personality. There are checks and balances. The Kim family no longer have that - they have moved beyond rational leadership into 'what I say goes' and that's fine until you have someone who jumps the shark. A President can be impeached or voted out (poor Don), the Kim dynasty cannot. They are closer to monarchy than anything else, the irony of a Communist country having a monarchy isn't lost on anyone outside the bubble. Even Stalin didn't manage to pop one of his kids on the throne of Russia.

And sure - I broadly agree the US having the bomb is a pre-cursor to everyone having the bomb. That argument was done in 1949 when the Russians got it - the trick now is making everyone give up the bomb rather than leaning into proliferation.
