Journalism free from the state but open source with a guarantee of minimum ethical standards - which would include the separation of opinion and news. Algorithms running 'news' would need to be separate from those running 'opinion' and be funded in a more open way. Opinion pieces could be funded similarly to Medium.... as long as the two things were delineated clearly.

My pieces are reasonably well researched, but they are just opinion pieces. The same is true of about 99.9% of the things written on this platform. They are the illusion of news, but just opinion pieces wearing hob-nailed boots. I get by on a flourishing turn of phrase and whimsical flip-flopping. I wouldn't let me anywhere near a journalism degree or news centre. :o)
