Back in the good old days you used to have 'elevated' pieces. I suspect that's what the amplify program is trying to replicate.... I've noticed a massive up-tick in my readership since the latest Ev Williams pivot - and was very skeptical of the publications when they arrived.

Nobody asked Medium to become an online lefty newspaper and I basically stopped reading and writing for the entirety of last year. If you weren't in the group of writers all curating and rewarding each other with biased commissions, you weren't being read.

I hope Medium goes back to what it used to be - a place for everyone to write where everyone (even Penguins) can find their audience. Great article, very enjoyable. :o)
