Being pro-parental consent is not necessarily anti-trans…. And this is part of the problem with the identity politics movement. Labour is a left-wing party, it promotes tolerance and discussion - throwing your toys out of the pram and never voting for them again because you don’t get EXACTLY what you want, the way you have envisioned it, at the point of demanding is why we repeatedly get right wing governments.

The best thing the Tories ever did was convincing niche interest groups that they have an absolute right to enforce their reality at all costs. It means they change nothing and nothing can move forward.

I would consider myself a moderate trans-inclusive sort of Penguin, and I think attempting to enact laws restricting the rights of parents to be involved in the medical and psychological care of their children would be ideological suicide. We have gillick competence as a necessary fudge and this creates a whole fucktonne of issues already.

You have equated middle ground political reality with the worst sort of naziism and will continue to wonder why nothing changes - there are more people in the middle than at either extreme. Wild swings and accusations of foul play keep the public both confused and disorientated and stymie any progress.
