Broadly agree. Believe in gender egalitarianism but don’t identify as feminist because it has been (and mostly continues to be) marketed to one half of the human race. If feminism as a movement cannot differentiate itself from either misandry or progressive ideals then it may continue to lack appeal.

And I can give you an example of what I mean. You’ve said that trad-wives don’t understand feminism or have misunderstood feminism. I suspect many progressives might argue the same thing about women who choose to wear the burkha - I don’t have a problem with people choosing traditional-cosplay in their house, doing porn or even wearing head to toe cloth because it aligns with their values….. but feminism seems to have decided it’s got a very western centric idea of what it wants to empower and what it doesn’t, and keeps going until it gets the ‘right’ answer.

This isn’t the same thing as feminism.

And because it’s being marketed by one half of the human race, to the same half of the human race - we cannot have complex discussions. I have yet to see anyone provide a balanced article about how we increase prosecutions of rape through legal changes, whilst simultaneously protecting men from spurious accusations. It rapidly becomes a gender based shit show in which everyone argues solely for the side with which their genitals align.

That is one of many reasons I’m both a Penguin and blocked frequently by those who don’t brook dissent in their echo chambers. :o)
