But to whom is that privilege attributed? In the case of the white girl who is missing, there’s an argument that systemic imbalance makes it more probable she will be found before she is murdered. The privilege gifted results in an imbalance that creates a sociological advantage over others.
That privilege is rendered nil if such a person is murdered - because I can’t see how we can make an argument they were treated more or less privileged than others at this point. Doubly so if there was a genocide. Triple-so if they are children. In this instance, I don’t see the white privilege argument as one that applies - and, given she was murdered by Nazis for not being ‘white’, I think there’s something grotesque about subjecting her work to such an argument.
That said. I think these things are important to debate, and these conversations are helpful for people finding the limits of where people psychologically position themselves. :o)
