Couldn’t agree more. My advice when training in communication strategies is to spot discrepancies between what people say and what people do. The latter is a much better indicator of what they think. It takes very little effort to say you support something, marginally more to put up a sticker – and far too much to internalise any of the core concepts of justice and equity and put them into practice in any meaningful way.

I have often found on social media, the game is to win as many pats on the back as you can whilst trying to avoid difficult questions or deal with complex issues and carrying on doing what you normally do. We promote the loudest voices and then wonder why nothing seems to change.

Your neighbours seem to be an example of this in action and I feel very sorry for you. It would drive me insane. Great article, very enjoyable. :o)
