Couldn't agree more - I love the evolution of language, but it's always better when done naturally over time. Words arrive, stick around for a bit then morph or drop away. Spastic is a good example, as is retarded - I miss the word bodacious which has fallen out of favour - and I cannot wait to get rid of the perpetual 'like'. Not everything is a simile, everything can be like, real. :o)
