Counter intuitively, I don’t have an issue with sensible discourse around the problem of paedophilia. Anything that makes children safer is fine by me and that may include a stronger differentiation between paedophilia and child abuse. The NYT article in particular makes a compelling case.

Having said that, I don’t trust the average woke warrior to be involved in that conversation or legislative change. Wokeism is predicated on binary thinking. You’re either with us or against us. You’re a hero or a villain. You either agree with everything a trans-activist asserts or you’re a transphobic monster. There is no room for nuance in that thought process, it isn’t adult enough to handle complex issues like this one.

Keeping children safe is the job of all society and there should be long discussions about how best to achieve that. So I have no problem with a well thought out argument about paedophilia being an immutable sexuality and prevention rather than punishment being a go-to strategy. I just think the average woke idiot won’t be able to tell when their movement is being hijacked and co-opted by nefarious pederasts.
