Damn it. Those sneaky language fairies. Would also argue that lots of people have a subjunctive experience. They generate experiences that didn’t objectively happen in their head and play them out in full – and then treat them as though they were actual experiences. That’s the root of social anxiety and many other things afflicting our youth. :o)
