Depp lost a defamation trial against a newsgroup in which Amber Heard was called as a witness for the defence meaning her evidence wasn't subject to disclosure. Had it been subject to disclosure and examination, it would've been discovered much of what the judge relied upon in making his decision for the newsgroup was tenuous.
