Did you watch the trial? Because it doesn’t sound like you did. There were problems with the jury’s reasoning, which I’ve written about - but this isn’t as cut and dry and the ‘goodie’ and ‘baddie’ narrative most people want.

There are very valid reasons why the two court cases returned different results and that’s largely to do with the scope of the evidence presented and the differing plaintiffs and defendants.

I don’t think Johnny Depp is entirely innocent and I would not have made the same judgement call as the jury did. I felt it was an overreach, however this wasn’t about Amber Heard being perfect either, it was about her being credible - and she wasn’t. There are complicated reasons for that - and she doesn’t deserve the current level of vitriol - but nor does she need a cheerleading squad taking her side, without understanding why this might be misguided and a dangerous message to send out to victims of domestic abuse.

Here’s the Penguin verdict in case you are interested. https://medium.com/lucid-nightmare/the-final-penguin-verdict-on-the-johnny-depp-v-amber-heard-trial-c661852e5ae
