Don’t get me wrong, that trial shouldn’t have happened in Minneapolis and the jury should’ve been sequestered from the get-go. Everything you’ve said is absolutely valid – and Maxine Waters doesn’t have the authority to call any sort of military presence – I was using hyperbole to make a wider point – the issue is that you don’t give your political enemies a stick to hit you with. When in doubt, say nothing at all. Not because people have removed your capacity to speak – but because sometimes the active choice for silence is the better option. I wrote a fairly controversial article called ‘the unbearable stupidity of Maxine Waters’ which explores this which you’re welcome to read and tear apart. I enjoy good debate and think you’re pretty good at it. :o)
