Every society had slavery as well…. But we elected to get rid of this because it turned out to be largely an exercise in racism and xenophobia. Hereditary monarchy is not fit for purpose in a globalised world, because the genetic laws that govern it are out of step with a continued push for equity.

My history knowledge is fine – all those other monarchies were racist too. It was just less noticed because most nation states were racially homogenous.
