Everyone COULD be better, but we have to give them the agency to work that out on their own. I loved all the philosophy of TNG and, along with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Terry Pratchett, it was a big part of the reason I wanted to become a writer. It was a little hit and miss at times, but it was always more hit than miss.

I got to the Young Guinan bits and was instantly turned off, she was one of the best characters on TNG, but here she feels like a mouthpiece and very little else. I couldn't see how Picard Guinan became TNG Guinan and that was very frustrating.

Damn it. Am I going to have to sit through the end of Picard just because the ending is good? I love the Picard and Q relationship, but I don't know how much more of the running round in the past being preachy I can take.

I haven't really seen Bill Maher, he's not really a household name over here. I'll have to dig out some of his stuff. I like what Bill Burr is doing though. If you get a chance, stick The Orville on and stick with it. A few episodes in and you'll feel like you've got a wonky Star Trek on.

Lower Decks is also worth watching. :o)
