Feminism in its initial iteration set out to ensure that men and women had equal rights and equity under the law. Most feminists follow this general approach, but there has been an influx of misandry under the guise of feminism that has made some of us who used to be feminists reconsider whether the label should apply to us. Personally, I remain committed to what I now term gender egalitarianism. This allows me to commit to the concepts of equality and equity without having to share the broad church with people who don't understand that feminism has to consider the rights (and responsibilities) of both sexes. :o)
