I'm not an American, so I'm only tangentially aware of this case, getting second hand reports based on the reports of the mainstream media....

I found the same thing happened with Kyle Rittenhouse. When I looked into the case, I was shocked to find a whole trove of information about the law and the situation that had been omitted from what was being put out into the world. This bipolarisation of the mainstream discourse will break Western Democracy if it continues unchecked.
