For what it's worth I don't care if you hurt my feelings either, my feelings aren't relevant to this discussion. What you're doing here is letting half of a population the preconditions of patriarchy. When we don't talk about the way women choose to socialise boys, or we don't talk about the damage a narcissistic mother might do to a young boy if awarded sole custody (as often happens in court processes) - then we're holding men entirely responsible for being half the problem. The patriarchy isn't about men subjugating women at every turn, it's about a series of complicated political and social processes which have to be overturned or mitigated to create a fairer society.
Hating men has been co-opted into that process and it's often flown under the same banner- it's rife over Medium and across social media in general. Go have a look at the numerous 'I didn't watch the trial but Johnny Depp is an evil bastard' articles. The feminist push here is for better court systems, better evidence gathering, better conviction outcomes for rape by specialist courts - the more often touted position is 'all men are potential rapists and shouldn't be trusted' - the first is about overturning a patriarchal imbalance, the latter is sound off about men.
And because I love debating (it goes with the name) let's talk about the absence of feminist voices on Ukraine... when there was a mandatory conscription for all men between 18 and 60 but women were encouraged to leave the country (though some stayed) where was the feminist outrage there? That's a discriminatory policy writ large - but perhaps the 'equal treatment' only applies to high level political jobs, CEOs of multinational companies and not to the option of dying in war?
Ghandi is complicated. We're talking about another culture and another era (unless you're Indian of course). Paedophile applies to someone who is explicitly attracted to children - specifically those who have not gone through puberty. Ghandi's 'sleeping buddies' were in their late teens, his grandniece Manu was 17. That would make it legal (but not morally justifiable) here in the UK. Whatever Ghandi's predillictions and however morally repugnant we might find them today - the assertion 'Ghandi was a paedophile' isn't one that can be easily supported.
