From one enthusiastic amateur to another - I absolutely endorse this. I love writing. I don’t care if my writing isn’t up to journalistic standards. I’m not a journalist. I’m a playwright/screenwriter with opinions. This isn’t my main gig either, it’s a bit of extra pocket money - I also know I should spend longer editing my work and crafting it.

But also… fuck it. I write exactly the way I think, I write what I want to write about and I love writing here. Indie writers like us are the bread and butter of this platform. When they gave all the journos free run of the Medium pubs, the place became a creative wasteland full of perfectly formatted puff pieces about whatever was popular.

This place allows us to present our wares - and if it’s not to the taste of the corporate writers and their subjective standards they can help themselves to a Chicken McGoFuckyourself with a side order of KissyMyFeatheryAss.
