Good article - and there's a line between negotiation of shared spaces and active misandry or active misogyny. As someone who goes to the gym fairly regularly, I'd also watch someone if they did a handstand but not out of any bizarre voyeuristic intention just pure jealousy.
It is in issues like these where we need the discussions to happen. If women are not exercising because they feel uncomfortable then there needs to be some change in the behaviour of men in these spaces. However, the monetisation of public shame is not the way to go. It seems like Swoll has it right. It's about the rules of the gym and about engendering an environment of mutual respect.
It's about inclusion, atmosphere and maturity and it sounds like this woman's misguided attempt to rebalance the scales overshot both common sense and human decency. :o)
