Good article and wholeheartedly agree. I think you've conflated the right to bodily autonomy with the perceived right to access an abortion - which is where the legal disconnect is. I argued this here. https://medium.com/p/6703fb59618e

You're gonna hate it, but that's fine. Rip it apart in the comments like everyone else if you'd like. The issue is one worthy of discussion.

For what it's worth, I think humanity should be moving towards an external-womb as quickly as possible. I mean that sincerely. I don't think childbirth and pregnancy does anyone any favours and offsetting with surrogacy seems limited. Given the technological advances possible, I think we are less than 100 years away from gene-mixing (of any and all sexes) and external-uteri, first as a necessity then as a commercial product. We'll see.

Great article. Love the gun to the head and petri dish argument, because you're right - that's where people might suddenly discover they aren't quite as pro-life as they initially appear. :o)
