Great article... though I think there's one caveat I would suggest.... often a sense of entitlement as extreme as the one generated by Rodger is born out of mental illness and this is something which needs to be explored in more detail and done so as a matter of urgency. Whilst there might be a problematic predisposition towards blaming women for the fault of a lack of sexual success, it really isn't the lack of sexual success that is the problem - it is the feedback loop.

As SC has said, there's no real way to address the problem of incels that involves women - and I think she's right (to a point) but a little like the programmes we have in the UK to stop those being radicalised into the far right, or islamic terrorism, we must also keep an eye on these young men. The vast majority of children exposed to islamic extremism will get a bit caught up but do nothing.... but every now and again you get someone with the wrong sort of childhood, the wrong sort of mental illness, the wrong sort of blueprint and everything goes very wrong very fast.

I don't know how we combat the Elliott Rodgers of the world, but I know we have to get better at spotting that toxic combination of nihilism, entitlement and misogyny. It's not about sex and very much about self-loathing and that's not easy to solve... but solve it we must.
