Great article. The problem is more dire than this though. The heavy shift of jobs from manufacturing into the service industry has pushed many men into work they’re not suitable for. If you’ve come from a long genetic line of farmers and land workers, you aren’t going to do well as an estate agent or a customer service rep…. So far we’ve lost a lot of primary industry jobs in the west, if it can be done by a machine it will be. That’s going to spread into the middle classes fairly soon with automated cars - that’s gonna hit all those guys who should’ve been factory workers who are now Uber drivers or delivery drivers.

Jobs that have historically been done by women are much safer and more secure. They’re more people based and aren’t easily automated. Nursing, childcare, social care, etc.

Throw in the ‘what are men good for?’ Argument and you’ve got yourself roving bands of muscular Incels within two generations. Or the nouveaux taliban, liberal democracy edition.
