Hahahhaha. Love the sass. To be fair, they did wear togas and they did invent numerals - but there was a lot more to them than that.... and yes, the article is somewhat lightweight, but you're mistaking writing tone for ignorance. The tone is light, the subject is broad not because I'm vapid but because readers won't sit through a ninety five minute piece as I guide them from Romulus to Romulus Augustus and drop them at the gates of the Byzantine empire for a sequel.

Of course the issue is much more complicated and far more massive than this piece suggests. I don't deny that, but the point of this article is to bring in other people to add commentary. My audience is taken from all over the political and social spectrum and this is the style they've clicked to get. It's not deep, but that doesn't mean there isn't depth there.
