Having an anoymous profile can sometimes be a bit of a burden and I have never returned to my initial profile (which was itself a variation of my real name). It does mean that I can't send people to read my published work or tell people what I'm up to - many people have pre-decided who I am, but that's also part of the game. I think it's long enough that it's become a brand in its own right now.

I believe you can actually run two profiles on Medium. I know that Joe Duncan does. I'm pretty sure that Hogan Torah says he's going to moonlight as a sex-writer. There's no reason why you can't be Will Shetterly and Comrade Morlock I don't think. Might be worth investigating. Then you can write as yourself (I can't write personal stories that might give my age, sex, gender, sexuality away) - but you can also write some of the political stuff under CM to cease that prattling identarian nonsense as a thoughtless rebuttal.
