Having dated someone with BPD, this rings very true. It is a personality disorder rather than a mental illness. Mental illnesses can often be treated with drugs, BPD is part of the blueprint for how you operate and engage with the world — I’m sure you’ve explored DBT and all the options available. My ex and I don’t talk any longer after the whirlwind of devastation she caused in my life and this still makes me feel profoundly sad, both for her and for me.

Great article, and awesome insights. Your article reminded me of the quote about people with BPD, (sorry, can’t remember who said it).

“they love without measure those whom they will soon hate without reason.”
