Hehehehe. Well done you! It's an amazing feeling isn't it? I'll admit I didn't sleep with a copy of my book, but I absolutely did get a lump in my throat when I opened the box for the first time. The distillation of thousands of hours of hard work, love, sweat, toil and tears into a small bit of pulped tree is strangely emotional in a way I wasn't expecting - and I pride myself in a sort of quiet Penguinous stoicism. You're bang on, it's exactly like delivering a small child into the world. Congrats a thousand times over and enjoy the ride, eventually you'll have to put the book in the other room so it can learn to sleep by itself. Oh.... and the next best thing. Taking copies of your books and dedicating them to people who made it happen. Those are sometimes harder to write than the book itself. Keep up the awesome writing! :o)
