Hello Jim - I'm popping over from the dark side to say this should be an article in its own right. You seem to be somewhere between Ben and I in your argument - and I think that's an interesting position to take. I don't think you're ranting either, you're just unpacking thoughts and I think you should unpack them further.... I would say that of course, because I'm secretly hoping once you've done exactly that, you'll find yourself on my side ;o)
