Hi Dale, sad to hear you didn't enjoy the article. C'est la vie, can't please all of the people all of the time. The world would be a very dull place if we all thought in the same way.

I agree entirely about learning about the institutions of racism and how it affects human psychology. This article is not a denial of racism. It's a warning that the discourse about racism is continually expanding past what is objectively actionable - and that this is a problem with identity politics.

If we create a world where anyone can say 'This is racist' but they cannot be held accountable to an objective standard, then there's nothing to learn. If someone tells you X is racist, and someone else says X isn't racist - and they're both BIPOC, you have a problem because you cannot see how it impacts thinking, relationships and laws.

If you would like to read something that outlines what I'm getting at, without recourse to my British sarcasm, I'd highly recommend reading this article by Steve QJ, one of the best written articles ever written on Medium.
