Human males only demonstrate interest and desireability to women they are interested in - though I suppose they can flaunt their wealth, height, humour, clothes etc. What men hope is that there's some concordance between the women they have selected as potential mates and women who may be receptive to being selected.

Women who are receptive to being selected but who are not desirable (for whatever reason) do not get a look in. If a male is properly attuned, he will then make the advance on the woman he has selected because she has given him the right signals. If he's improperly attuned he'll make an advance on every woman who is friendly with him (and become a creep), or entirely miss her subtle hints that she's approachable (and become an incel).

It's a good job sex is so much fun or we'd be going extinct as a species fairly sharpish. :o)
