I agree - and that's why if someone puts something on Medium they should be prepared to debate it and defend it. Lots of writers from the last two years spent a lot of time being heavily promoted in echo chambers though - and they don't know what to do with people like me who dissent and disagree.
Normally someone else will come and defend them - as with André. If they don't actually believe what they're saying they should turn the comments off. That way they can be set to broadcast and live without hearing a dissenting voice - but most of them are addicted to their crowd of vociferous acolytes and the constant bathing of 'you're so wise and brave'.
I'm with you- debate in good faith or use twitter / facebook. This is a marketplace of ideas not a font for idiot baptism.
