I agree. But apply the word ‘nativism’ to identity groups as a whole rather than nationalists as an individual entity - and consider that bigotry simply means the inability to listen to another person’s point of view - and then you have your answer.
There is very little difference in actual methodology between nativists and identity-driven folk, both think their lens is the correct one, neither appreciates the point the other is trying to make - we should be seeking consensus driven political leaders and I think (and hope) with Starmer, this might happen.
Neither reform nor the Corbyn left are happy about it - but they’ve been shouting across the central-void for rhetoric last decade and got absolutely nowhere. :o)
