I agree. In part. I watched most of the trial and I’ve disagreed with the outcome (I think it’s an overreach)…. However, this trial by media was one which was enacted by Heard and to which Depp was (originally at least) an unwilling participant.

She was able to create a media story about her TRO, she likely leaked videos to TMZ, and she wrote an op-ed two years later apropos of nothing to capitalise on a social movement. This was the weaponisation of public opinion in an unnecessary way - now it has come back to bite her.

I don’t agree with the way Heard is being treated as I was with Depp in 2018; I think it’s deplorable that people see this as a form of sport…. Having said that, there is a direct line between the current firestorm and the young actress holding matches six years ago.
