I agree, in part. Safe spaces exist whenever two or more people agree on a code of conduct between them. Most people's houses are safe spaces. My house my rules etc. I'm not talking about women's shelters, or foster homes, those are genuinely needed safe spaces - I'm talking about ideological safe spaces. Ideological safe spaces neither build resilience or offer true safety to those who attend them. They divorce themselves from the reality of pluralistic societies and often increase the anxiety of those who engage with them.
