I agree, it does. Medium is only one part of my writing — I am a playwright, and to be honest, that is where the art side of my writing comes out. Medium is a numbers game, slightly about luck, and mostly about consistency. It tweaks and re-tweaks constantly, I’ve been through at least one major upheaval in the way Medium works since I joined in 2018.

I think I would say that Medium is a good training ground for writing your art elsewhere. Think Warhol, who spent a long time working as a graphic designer before he became an ‘artist’. Think of Medium as a place to practice and to hone your skill and self-discipline, perhaps the place to find your voice and what you’re interested in — but always keep your artistic writing on the side.

Thanks for your comment — and keep writing. I did a month of daily writing last October and nearly died. Now I write a few times a week. But what works is different for everyone. :o)
