I agree that centre ground democrat is the way that most people should vote. I'm a lefty too. However, I don't think identity politics is the way to achieve that - we have reached the same conclusion via different methodology.

In a society which places identity front and centre, you empower small niche groups against each other - rather than empowering them to fight for common ground. That's why the LGB is currently falling out with the T. Such infighting is a dream to Conservatives who can point at the increasingly baffling conversations and linguistic tomfoolery of the LGBTQ+ or the shrill race prejudice oversensitivity of the BLM movement and say 'this is the alternative'.

Whilst the right holds power, progressives have conversations about why hand dryers in colleges are racist. Whilst the right continues to hold power, a camp for gay men gets lambasted for not including trans-men and invokes the protection of a 'safe space'

Identity politics looks like a lefty push, but it's a right wing movement empowering minority groups. It is much better to vote centrally. I very much want things to get better for BIPOC people, for trans-women like you - but to do so convincingly, we have to focus on the fundamental arguments about human rights - and not do things that destablise liberal democracy. There is no better place for trans-women than a liberal democracy in a stable centre ground - and identity politics played by both sides is destablising it. I think you have all the right intentions, I respectfully think you're backing the wrong horse.

You might find my recent discussion with James Finn to be of interest. As it brings in a lot of points that are salient to this discussion.
