I agree that the SCOTUS decision was a bad one - and I think the implications of it were horrifying. Blame is somewhat shared between passing the Republican torch to the religious right and the failure of the left to codify or to rethink the laws.

My position is the 24 week one that happens here in the UK. After 24 weeks things become a little bit more philsophically murky. I think science and technology will eventually lead us to a place where pregnancy is redundant. I think we're very likely to have external wombs at some point in the future - that'll make shit really legally complicated and this is the sort of thing that dystopian playwrights have to consider.

Oooooh, I love this example. I think he would be morally obligated to give her the blood but I don't believe he can be forced - and that, in a nutshell, is checkmate. Well played.
