I agree. There was a political argument which turned black people from property into people.... it's terrible that it didn't happen in the 1790s but I suspect economic necessity and the threat of the French Revolution had impinged on the minds of the founding fathers too much. I'm not going to defend their choices but I am very pleased such a decision was overturned, even if it did take an absolute fucktonne of time.
There are a strain of people in every country who want such things. The trick is to guard against such people and make the strongest legal arguments you can. Keep those fuckers at bay. :o)
