I agree. This is my contribution to the anti-racism movement - attempting to demonstrate why adhereing to identity politics only reinforces racism and not extinguish it.

It forces people to concentrate entirely on the differences between them, instead of focussing on the common underlying humanity. Identity politics and it's ideologies are undermining the catch-all movements of socialism which would reduce the suffering (and thus prejudice) of many people.

'Anti-racism' is the distraction from the issue at hand. It's a 'don't think about pink elephants' approach that won't work. Far better approaches are available - which includes teaching people why they're racist instead of simply condemning them for being so. In that way, I am working towards the same end as you - just not with the same methodology.

The cartoon avatar is a choice. It forces people to read what I write rather than consider my identity as relevant to a given discussion - which, in my eyes at least, it is not. Thanks for your comment and continuing the discussion :o)
