I agree with a number of the things that you’ve said here. But I would argue that creative arts do not exclusively belong to the left wing or the moderate liberal. There could be a genre of film designed to appeal to those people who hold the opposite political, social and cultural views to you. I don’t necessarily see that as a bad thing.

Conflating a political ideology with a view on how a genre should be somewhat misses the point. The film found an audience. People enjoyed it. I enjoyed it. Doing so says nothing about my political leanings whatsoever. Films are films first and foremost. Retrospectively applying a political interpretation feels like chronological and cultural relativism.
