I almost certainly wouldn't be prepared to run an equality experiment during a military invasion.... but that's not the point. The point is that there was no condemnation of an obviously discriminatory. That discrimination was on the grounds of sex and therefore is anti-feminist.
Had Putin gone in a different direction and invaded either Sweden or Norway, he would've found an army comprising of both sexes fighting back. Conscription in those countries is not aligned with gender. Feminist approaches would be 'no conscription' or 'all conscription'. I would prefer 'no conscription' but that's because I'm a liberal and my country isn't being invaded.
This is not a critique of what the Ukrainian state did when the Russians invaded - they made their choices with their backs against he wall, it is a critique of a conceptual framework which chooses which bits of inequality it wishes to tackle and at what level. :o)
