I also struggle. I once saw a traffic advert that was the last moments of a guy's motorbike accident as captured from his helmet cam - released by his parents to advise people to watch when pulling out of a junction. It stayed with me for weeks - which I suspect was the point but was also terrible. If I didn't hate trigger warnings so much, I'd request one for any real life footage.
