I also struggle with this. The synthetic left has embraced the right wing model of niche interest groups and moved away from collectivist economic empowerment. They’ve also labelled any critique of their position as ‘racist’ - it’s not a good move and it’ll see a shift from the centre ground liberals to the soft right. Many centre ground voters aren’t swayed by the best choice, they’re swayed by avoiding the worst choice. This doesn’t bode well for the batshit identity focussed left and their all inclusive but inter-squabbling agenda. It’s impossible to produce any valid policy in a crab bucket. As soon as one voice emerges, the others will tear it to shreds.
