I always endeavour to do my best to debate, but (as always) my time is limited. I haven't gone off in high-dudgeon, but I rapidly lose track of what I'm replying to - particularly if comments are long and require some deep thought. I will go back and have a look for your responses to my pieces - but do feel free to nudge me if you're not getting a response. I rarely get emotionally affronted as it is not in my nature. I never refuse to respond to anything.

Emotion and rationality are key to making good decisions - but not a lot of people apply the benefit of both. They make emotional decisions and then post-hoc rationalise them - or they make rational decisions and pretend to ignore the emotional component. I am more guilty of the latter than the former (I think) but I am happy to be challenged.

I suspect I would also fuck up the Asch experiment. I strongly dislike being told what to do and rarely do things unless someone can justify it fully.

I shall take your admonition at face value and go and practice what I preach and find your comments. Please remember that you often comment on stories I wrote a long time while ago and have to reacquaint myself with many things - and you often comment at length with required reading which makes it difficult to formulate a reply.

I would recommend doing what the lovely SC does. Which is pepper me with short observations that you want a specific response to - I often find this easier than trying to get my thoughts together en masse and then getting distracted. I get lots of comments a day and I've got a job to do and scripts to write.

Also... nothing wrong with the long form comments doing a rebuttal either. I don't hide comments, so if I've got something wrong and you've called me out - other people can go see it. :o)
